Amritsar to Leh Ladakh Adventure Tour
Day 1: Amritsar to Jammu (Approx. 6 hrs drive)
Your adventurous Ladakh journey begins from Amritsar. After breakfast, drive towards Jammu, enjoying the transition from Punjab’s plains to the foothills of Jammu & Kashmir. On reaching Jammu, check into your hotel and relax. If time permits, visit the Raghunath Temple or enjoy a walk in the local market. Overnight stay in Jammu.
Day 2: Jammu to Srinagar via Patnitop (Approx. 8–9 hrs)
After breakfast, begin the beautiful drive to Srinagar. En route, pass through Udhampur, Patnitop, and the Jawahar Tunnel — witnessing scenic hills, valleys, and river views. Arrive in Srinagar by late afternoon and check into your hotel or houseboat. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful Shikara ride on Dal Lake. Overnight stay in Srinagar.
Day 3: Srinagar to Kargil via Sonmarg and Drass (Approx. 8 hrs)
Today, set out early for Kargil, passing through the lush alpine meadows of Sonmarg and the rugged, cold desert region of Drass — the second coldest inhabited place on earth. Stop at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass for a moving tribute to India’s brave soldiers. Reach Kargil by evening and check into your hotel. Overnight stay in Kargil.
Day 4: Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru and Magnetic Hill (Approx. 7 hrs)
After breakfast, begin the drive to Leh, crossing scenic landscapes and visiting key sights like the Lamayuru Monastery, known as the "Moonland" for its lunar-like terrain. Stop at Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to defy gravity, and witness the Indus–Zanskar River confluence at Sangam Point. Arrive in Leh by evening and check in to your hotel. Rest and acclimatize. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 5: Leh Local Sightseeing – Acclimatization Day
Spend the day exploring Leh’s local attractions while your body acclimates to the high altitude. Visit Shanti Stupa for panoramic views of Leh, explore the ancient Leh Palace, and pay respects at the Hall of Fame Museum dedicated to war heroes. In the evening, stroll through Leh Market for Tibetan souvenirs and local food. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 6: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (Approx. 5 hrs)
Post early breakfast, begin your journey to Nubra Valley, crossing the thrilling Khardung La Pass (5,359 m) — one of the world’s highest motorable roads. On reaching Nubra, visit Diskit Monastery and enjoy a ride on the Bactrian double-humped camels in the cold desert of Hunder. The scenery is surreal, with dunes framed by snow-covered peaks. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
Day 7: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shyok Route (Approx. 6 hrs)
Today’s drive takes you through the wild terrain of the Shyok River route to reach the stunning Pangong Lake, located at an altitude of 14,270 feet. On arrival, witness the mesmerizing blue hues of the lake, constantly changing with the sunlight. Spend your evening watching the sunset over the lake and enjoy camping under the stars. Overnight stay in camps near Pangong Lake.
Day 8: Pangong Lake to Leh via Chang La Pass (Approx. 6 hrs)
Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise at Pangong Tso. After breakfast, begin your return journey to Leh via the scenic Chang La Pass (5,360 m). On the way, you can visit Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace, and Sindhu Ghat. Reach Leh by late afternoon and spend your last evening in the local market or relaxing at the hotel. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 9: Leh to Jammu (By Flight or Two-Day Drive Option)
Depending on your travel preference, you can either take a morning flight to Jammu or start a two-day scenic road journey back via Kargil and Srinagar. If flying, you’ll arrive in Jammu by afternoon and stay overnight there. If driving, halt in Kargil or Srinagar for the night.
Day 10: Jammu to Amritsar (Return Journey – Approx. 5–6 hrs)
Today, conclude your 10-day Ladakh adventure with your return to Amritsar. Drive back from Jammu through the beautiful plains of Punjab, carrying memories of monasteries, deserts, blue lakes, and the spirit of the Himalayas.
